Dear Aunt Stella,
Awesome is the first word that comes to mind. What an incredible gift you have created, blending together all the efforts of making the miniature village over the years with the magic of storytelling to an eager grandchild. Your mother would have wept with pride and joy had she been able to see this incredible website.
I began to read almost an hour ago and have only now meandered through the last hayfield listening to the final song as uncle Steve carries his mended harness back home. I am stunned by the monumental work of family history, and the wealthy chronicle of prairie life I have just been privileged to read. It must be published. Please let me know if you are willing to allow me to share your web address with other family members. I cannot think of a greater Christmas gift than this. I look forward to discussing this project with you and perhaps aiding you to secure a publisher for a print version of this treasure.
Please email me or call me on my cell to grant me permission
to share your web address with family members and to show this website to the family on mom's computer on Christmas Day. Your brother Walt will be mesmerized. I'll get him two boxes of Kleenex at the ready. I look forward to your reply.
Fantastic job Auntie Stella! Bravo!
Merry Christmas, Loads of love,
Lorne.

Dear Clark's baba
what a wonderful thing to be able to see from anywhere the places that amazed me at the first time more than five years ago. Now it's my turn to spread the word and let others enjoy these lovely stories and pictures. Thank you so much again for everything.

THESE ARE WONDERFUL STORIES. THEY BROUGHT MEMORIES OF PORCUPINE PLAIN, SASKATCHEWAN FOR ME. OUR COTTAGE AT THE LAKE HAD AN OUTHOUSE AND WE HAULED DRINKING WATER FROM A WELL DOWN THE BLOCK. WE ALSO HAD TO GET ICE, AS CHILDREN, FROM THE ICEHOUSE. IT WOULD BE BURIED IN SAW DUST AND STAYED FROZEN FROM THE PREVIOUS WINTER. THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY MOM COULD KEEP THE MILK, ETC. COLD THOUGH THE SUMMER MONTHS THAT WE WOULD LIVE OUT THERE. I REALLY THINK YOU HAVE SOMETHING, HERE.
LOVE
JANE

Thank you Estelle for sharing this with me. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your site and admire the detail and care you have put into this outstanding memorial of you and your family. I'm sure it will serve many generations and serves as a model to other families. They may not have your talent and skills and dedication. Well done you deserve a medal.

Hi Estelle,
Thank you so much for letting me know about your website. I couldn't stop reading! It brought back so many of my childhood memories from Sewell, Manitoba. It's a wonderful website and what a joy to have been able to read it and reminisce. Please let me know when your property is open for the public to view and I'd appreciate your letting me know when "Elvis" is singing. I'll pass your website on - thanks again.

I love this site. It is such a wonderful idea. I love the mini-farm. When I went there, I could hardly wait to see the site. I love learning about pioneer life. Baba, you should keep this up.

Grandma,
What a wonderful gift to everyone! Your countless hours of hard work have certainly paid off. I enjoyed each page and now look forward to hearing about the next 20 years as well as reading the stories to your great grandchildren which by the way I am working on now and hope to have good news someday soon.

We share the same WebMaster. Geoff is an old schoolfriend when we were at school together in England where I live.
I thought to dip briefly into your memories but ended up reading them in detail as they did strike some chords in my own memories. i too have worked hot metal on many occasions just as you describe and those smells came back to me in a rush.
Thank you for giving me a glimpse of a much simpler world where people had the satisfaction of being self-sufficient at the price of very hard work and level of discomfort found rarely in the developed world today.
I'm sure you will be visited by many of my contacts.
